All the crafts

I’ve had loads of fun crafting with friends lately. My three latest pieces are pressed flower art, a painted globe and a wooden sign.

I learned about flower pressing from a class taught by Ayla of Gypsy Skulls. It was more challenging than it looks! We practiced our layouts, then used spray adhesive to place the flowers.

I just need to frame it. And start sourcing the loads of flowers I need to start pressing my own! You can also buy inexpensive pressed flowers from

The night before the flower class, I had gotten together with a few coworkers to play around with a Cricut Air machine. It’s incredibly easy to use – I’ve put it on my Christmas list.

I had a cool globe I found at a vintage shop.

Added vinyl letters cut on the Cricut.

Painted the whole thing black.

Then removed the vinyl. Amazing, right?

Finally, the wooden sign. We’ve been holding an annual street hockey party for 14 years, but this was our last year, since we’re moving across the country.

Keith dismantled a pallet to create the sign, I whitewashed it and he attached a ball and stick. My friend used her Cricut to make the letters.
