A few months ago I wrote a post entitled, Yes you can. I talked about how practice might not make perfect, but it can make you pretty close to perfect.
In the post I linked to a viral video of Karen X. Cheng, whose online video documenting how she learned to dance in one year is incredible. Since creating that video, she’s created the ‘Give it 100’ project. The project challenges participants to learn a new trick or work on an accomplishment in 100 days. Users upload daily 10-second video clips to demonstrate their progress with their challenges. Whether you want to work on getting better at something you can already do, master a brand new feat, lose weight, design websites or learn how to juggle, Give it 100 can help you stay accountable and motivated.
It took me two minutes to set up my account, and when I got home that night, it took me another two minutes to figure out how to shoot the video with my phone, trim it (the site does it for you if your video is too long) and upload it.
One of my goals for 2014 is to hoop every day. I love hooping, and want to improve my skills, but making it a priority in my day has been challenging. Committing to Give it 100 is a fun way to add a social aspect to something I usually do alone, and often put off.
Come follow me on giveit100.com and set up your own challenge!
(Updated January 14 – I posted this yesterday without realizing that January 13 was Make Your Dreams Come True Day. Kinda fitting, no? My friend Merry posted about it – thanks for the heads up!)
This post was not sponsored in any way – it’s just a very cool site I wanted to share with you!
