Thrifting Thursday #1

Introducing Thrifting Thursday!

I’m a die hard thrifter. Whether I’m scouring secondhand shops stores, vintage shops, garage sales or online used goods websites, I’m always on the look out for that perfect thing, at the perfect price.

Beginning today, I’ll be featuring my latest finds each Thursday. I hope you’ll join me in blogging about your thrifty finds, or sharing your stories in the comments here.

This brings me to today’s post. As part of preparations to move, I’m purging the house of unwanted items. Most of these items I’m selling though the VarageSale app on Facebook, but some stuff is being taken to my local Salvation Army.

You know what’s challenging? Not buying more items to bring into the new house while I’m at the thrift store!

But how can you pass up deals like this?

Vintage Tupperware flour container – $1.99
Vent cover – $0.99 (we were short one in staging the house and they’re $3.99 at Home Depot)
Two novels for me – $2.00
Meal sized tins for freezer meals I donate – $.90 for all
Brand new scrapbook kit for my eldest – $0.99
Two toddler board books for the youngest – $0.49 for both
Mint condition copy of The English Roses by Madonna for the middle – $0.99

These finds, for under $9, made my day. Tell me about your latest thrift shop treasure hunt!

Awesome finds, Sarah. I especially love the vintage Tupperware 🙂 I’ve never tried the VarageSale app – I tend to sell a lot of un-needed stuff on kijiji. But I’m always on the lookout for good ways to recycle stuff so I’ll check it out.

  2. I love all this. I love garage sales, but am becoming a bit of an old furniture hoarder.
